It has been a rainy day, so it seemed suitable to work on a watercolor painting of some of the mushrooms/fungi that have been popping up in the lawns of the homes I pass on my daily walk. These lovely orange darlings were grouped around the base of an oak tree surrounded by grass and pine straw. The blueness of my background almost strikes me as a watery pond with lily pads!
Much of my artwork juxtaposes the eternal with the ephemeral—landscapes that last a longtime and flowers and fungi@that only last a few days. Life is like that—both eternal and short-lived.
